Management (KSS Projects for Communication)

This is the set of rules for all the collaborators in KSS Projects for Communication, which are supported by industries (Studio Phones and others) based on requests from the academic organizers (from Kobe University).

Expected Collaborators

• Research or faculty members of universities and institutes.
• Industrial members who are working for academic research in part, based on their business activities.

Nondisclosure Manners

• Each project may discuss unpublic ideas which are worth academic papers hence please take care of this fact.
• Each project may discuss intellectual properties of industries involved in KSS hence please take care of this fact.

Fairness Manners

• Any comment or action on the industries and any members involved in KSS, must be neutral and fair.
• As for Kobe Studio Seminar, please follow this manner above.

Legal Note

• Any activity of KSS (including KSS Projects) shall be exclusively subject to regulations of Kobe University.

All the collaborators may not act against the following code of conduct for scientists. Otherwise, the organizers of KSS may shut down a project, address the issue and complain to the collaborator's affiliation over the issue formally.

Formal and Inter-Project Managements

• The moderators make a decision of finalizing a project, and shut down a project in the case.
• The moderators assist the projects to avoid any redundant work and share intermediate results across the projects in the case.
• The moderators may make a decision of starting a new project if a proposal with signature is received by the academic moderator.

Each Project Management

• Each project chair (basically other than the moderators) has all the responsibilities on any activity of the project. This includes any management of any intermediate result, resource, or inside information of the project.

All the projects may publish the result as follows.

Publication Media

• Academic Papers, Technical Papers, or KSS Articles.

Acknowledgment and Credit

• Please list the relevant collaborators as co-authors by the chair's decision, based on their commitments.

Please make your specific agreement with all the collaborators in the project if you need to have a contract on nondisclosure and so on. However, any agreement must have the following statement and follow the code of conduct for scientists above.

• You may not sell any result and resource of the project until the project publicizes the result formally, even if you have any specific prior written permission from all the collaborators.

Preliminary Reference Implementations

• Any intermediate result of the projects may be implemented by the moderators for further discussions in KSS.
• Any implementation will be kept as private until the original project publicizes the result.
• Some implementations will be publicized in KSS Articles for KSS Projects.

Administrative Managements

• All the administrative managements are done by the academic moderator. Please contact the corresponding moderator, Kosaku Nagasaka if you have a question on any treatments in KSS Projects for Communication.
