"Methodologies of Visual Appearance and Rendering" is one of the projects of "KSS Projects for Communication", which is started since 2015, following Studio Phones Fellowship Program.
The purpose of this project is to develop a compact, rendering-friendly, analytical representation of visual appearance of various real-world materials (e.g. cloth, fabrics, metals) in the collaboration with pure Mathematics and Computer Graphics.
We hope this collaboration will bring us a new mathematical reflectance model, which is easy to use, control, acquire, and render, and new research directions for Mathematics and Computer Graphics.
Please contact the corresponding moderator, Kosaku Nagasaka if you have a question on any project of KSS Projects for Communication.
