"Finding Mathematical Structures in Computer Graphics" is one of the projects of "KSS Projects for Communication", which is started since 2015.
Our goal is to find both fundamental and practical connections between pure-mathematics and computer graphics. We strive to make our group represent a good mixture of mathematical background and knowledge in computer graphics. We aim to publish several fundamental techniques and theories based on our collaborations as academic journals, with practical applications to industries such as the image industry.
The reason we started this project is very simple. For a couple of years, Kobe Studio Seminar for Studies with Renderman (and its former seminars) has organized several seminars by which we have noticed a possibility of collaborating with several sorts of specialists. This effort leads to some preliminary results such as Symbolic-Numeric Computations for Computer Graphics.
